Our first visit is to the sacred Meiji Shrine, nestled in a serene forest of 365 tree species and dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken. Following lunch at a local restaurant, we stroll through the vibrant streets of Harajuku, famed for its eclectic boutiques and cosplay culture. After breakfast, we visit Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple: Sensoji (Asakusa). According to legend, the Kannon statue enshrined here was miraculously found by fishermen. After breakfast, we check out and send our main luggage to Kyoto by coach for convenience. Taking only a small daypack, we travel to Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest and most sacred mountain. From the idyllic village of Oshino Hakkai, admire the perfect view of Fuji’s majestic peak. Continue to Kawaguchiko Lake for a scenic boat ride, offering panoramic vistas. Enjoy lunch en route before transferring to Odawara and boarding the high-speed train to Kyoto. Upon arrival, we experience a traditional tea ceremony in kimono attire. Overnight in Kyoto.

Following breakfast, our Kyoto city tour begins. We explore the historic Kiyomizu Temple (exterior), the UNESCO-listed Nijo Castle complex, and the Sagano Bamboo Grove in Arashiyama. Our journey continues to the enchanting Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), a Zen temple covered in gold leaf and reflecting over a tranquil pond. After breakfast, we travel by Shinkansen to Hiroshima. Here, we visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, a powerful tribute to the victims of the atomic bomb. Continue to Miyajima Island, home to the floating torii gate and the Itsukushima Shrine, which appears to hover over the sea during high tide.
